It grows from an underground rhizome, which makes it able to resprout after hard cutbacks. Withstands heavy frost, and good for coastal plantings. It is proving to be adaptable to a wide range of climates from temperate to Mediterranean as well as sub tropical climates. Great as a border or pot plant, and can be used under trees.
