A very drought hardy small shrub, very popular for the silver grey foliage which has a soft and felty texture. Grows around a metre high and wide and can be up to three metres. It has purple mauve mid sized flowers from winter to spring, and they are nectar rich bringing birds and insects to the garden to feed. It naturally grows in inland arid places on alkaline soils. It can be grafted to suit more humid areas and acid soils. Frost tolerant. Tip prune after flowering to maintain a compact shape.
