Callistemon hybrid ‘Red Rocket’ – Bottlebrush
- Callistemon hybrid bottlebrush ‘Red Rocket’
Callistemon ‘Red Rocket’ is a small and colourful shrub, with bright red new growth on dark older foliage. It makes a great contrast plant, and is low maintenance. It grows to around a metre and a half high and wide, making it perfect for low hedges and screening. You can use it unpruned for informal hedging, but pruned regularly it can create a good formal coloured foliage hedge. Adapts to most soil types, dry or wet conditions, and is good for sun to part shade. A light prune once or twice a year will ensure a more dense habit and flushes of new red growth. It is frost tolerant.
